'COLETTE is a post modern collusion between stand up and biography, a humourous, one woman romp through the life of the French woman of letters.
It really is a tour de force, Caddell seemingly inexhaustible, singing beautifully in a series of musically parodies and flirting with the audience, tempting them into twentieth century decendent France...
However, the reason to catch this show is for Caddell herself. She is astonishingly vigorous, capturing moods and passions, showcasing every performance art short of playing the trombone and entertaining, always entertaining.'
The Skinny Magazine
A remarkable one woman show that whipped up a storm at the Glasgay Festival 2008! Colette traces the scandalous and sensual life of Sidonie Gabrielle Colette (1873-1954): the French writer and icon who was a genius of self-promotion & the 'Madonna' of the early 20th century'.
Armed with her Parker pens and her little suitcase of gymnastic equipment, Colette makes her leap from married woman of letters, to high society corrupt darling; music-hall megastar, scandalous lesbian, to wife of three husbands, war correspondent and mother to eventually become France's greatest female writer.
And yet her finest creation may have been herself.
