She has acted and toured with various theatre companies over the last 10 years. In 2007 she was nominated by The Stage Awards for Acting Excellence in the category of ‘Best Ensemble Performance' for her role as Myrtle in Pit by Megan Barker at the Traverse Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival. She is a skilled chameleon and character actress with a background in physical and devised theatre, comedy, classical drama, mime and Commedia dell'Arte.
In February 2008 her first play Everybody’s Baby was published by the I-ACT Creative Forum in Alexandria in both English and Arabic. She was also one of the first young playwrights to be awarded a Playwrighting Mentorship with the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland in 2005 under the mentorship Scottish playwright and poet Liz Lochhead.
She has also been awarded a New Writing Grant by the Peggy Ramsay Foundation in support of her playwriting.
Her first full play Colette was commissioned by the Glasgay Festival and performed in 2008 with the support of the Alliance Francaise Glasgow.
Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) and has recently completed Creative Lab Artist Residency at The Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow.
In June 2010 she worked with the Playwrights Studio, the RSAMD 2nd Year Acting students, writing and directed her latest play 'Lucky Girl' as part of On The Verge at the Arches Theatre.
Her latest projects in August/Sept 2010 include taking Colette the play on tour and developing Colette as a film project.
